Miyoko - 2006 Girl's Day in Hawaii
LE 750 dolls

Precious Moments is proud to introduce Miyoko, the first limited edition Japanese Girls Day Doll created and designed for the State of Hawaii.

Primarily in Japan and many parts of Asia, the third of March is celebrated as a day of womanhood. The modern day interpretation of this ancient holiday (17th century) is commonly referred to as  “Hina Matsuri” or Girls Day. On this day, families with young daughters celebrate this event to ensure their daughter’s future happiness, good health and prosperity. Elaborately decorated in the finest silks and adornments, these dolls are given as gifts on Girls Day. These dolls are not your everyday dolls usually played with but are ceremonial dolls representing a family’s heritage and handed down from generation to generation.

The tradition continues with Miyoko, the First Precious Moments Doll honoring Hina-Matsuri.
